#2 Operator in Pre-Press Plating - 1st shift

Job Description
We are hiring a #2 Prepress Operator for our printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. As a #2 Prepress Operator, you will be responsible for working as a Mid-Level Operator on our Core Publishing Solutions team. You will be operating state-of-the-art digital plate setting equipment. For this role, you would also be eligible for $2,500 sign-on bonus after three months.

Hours of Work – Eagan, Minnesota
1st shift – 6:30 am – 2:30 pm Monday - Friday
Occasional weekend overtime


About the Role: In this opportunity as a #2 Prepress Operator, you will be responsible for:   

Reviewing job specifications for material and set-up requirementsPerforming or delegating set-up tasksMonitoring the equipment and product through the job run to ensure a high-quality productPerforming moderately complex troubleshooting related to product or equipmentCommunicating effectively during shift and at shift hand-offEvaluating mechanical condition of equipment, completing preventive maintenance; involving Maintenance as neededUsing computer-based workflow applications to manage files and send them to platesetters.Accurately documenting activities on Tier Boards and in relevant systems (MII, SAP), i.e., material usage, equipment issues, etcAccurately marking, verifying, and tagging loads correctly to ensure inventory accuracyProviding work direction to others, whether direct crew or other individuals in the workstreamActively participating in company safety programs and contributing to a safe culturePerforming training as neededMeeting or exceeding established quality and productivity standards utilizing standard work proceduresImplementing, performing and sustaining housekeeping procedures to maintain work area and equipmentParticipating in project teams as needed.Recommending and implementing process improvementsFilling in for other Operators as needed including covering absences or breaksHelp in other areas as necessary


About You:

Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher. Candidates with a vocational/technical degree are strongly preferredExperience leading and training othersExperience working in an industrial setting with a wide range of production machineryStrong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, and work independently and as part of a team to resolve issuesSolid understanding of Lean concepts and continuous improvementCompetent with rulers and measurementAble to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and production ordersCan regularly lift at least 5 lbs. above the shoulder as well as push, pull and lift at least 10 lbs occasionally up to 50 lbsRegularly standing walking, crouching, bending, reaching and kneeling

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation hourly range for this role is $21 - $38.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
