Woodward in Zeeland, MI is looking for Materials Technician 1 on our 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm to join our team. This position will be responsible for performing various assembly and testing processes on our products. If you have experience in assembly in a manufacturing environment, apply now!

Essential Functions:

Reviews certification of incoming material and performs periodic routine testingEnsures laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated appropriately and meets specification and functional limitsRecords test results (numerical and graphical data); reviews test results for compliance to test objectives and documents test progressInstructs others in the safe and proper use of applicable lab hardware and toolsCreates NCR'sPerforms basic maintenance functions for equipment as directed by engineersRecords test procedures and enters results in computer databaseReviews test results for compliance to test objectivesExamines parts for conformance to system or component specificationsAbility to learn basic metallography techniques and how to use common analytical instruments such as the metallograph, macro/microhardness testers, and equipment and chemicals used in metallographyReads/understands engineering drawings, specifications, and operation sheetsPerforms qualification of special processes such as braze joints, weld joints, electrical discharge machined (EDM) surfaces, hard coat, consumables or operator certificationIndividual may work directly with outside suppliersWrites and communicates test reports

Learning assembly and test processes, drawings and geometric tolerances as well as shop standards and proceduresEffective written/verbal communication skills, basic presentation skills; learning technical writing skills (procedures, reports, etc.)Basic PC skills with some functional experience using spreadsheet, word processing, and WISE screensLearning to setup and troubleshoot basic instrumentationLearning appropriate WISE applications such as BOM, Item Master, NCR, EFMS, WWV, BDDSBasic "hands on" abilities

Education:

US – High School Diploma

Experience:
