As an accounting analysis manager on the Global Digital Accounting team, you’ll be the subject matter accounting owner for the Starbucks Value Card (SVC) program and collaborate with teams across Starbucks to support the accounting and operation of SVC, drive process improvements and automation on the team’s processes and support new digital initiatives, as well as prepare and review month-end entries and quarterly financial reporting deliverables for respective areas.
As an accounting analysis manager, you will…
• Own accounting processes in the respective areas– including the internal controls, recording and reconciling of SVC activities, leading the analysis and setting of breakage rate for global markets. Partner with cross-functional teams, external vendors, licensees to resolve settlement and operational issues relating to SVC.
• Innovate and collaborate for continuous process improvement - recommend and drive the implementation of ideas and innovations to improve upon existing systems and work processes impacting month-end and quarter-end financial close and reporting.
• Provide accounting support for new initiatives – as an accounting subject matter expert for digital accounting, partner with strategic cross-functional teams to make recommendations on operationalize accounting for digital initiatives.
• Be a leader among peers - train, coach, and mentor less experienced accountants, advise peers in areas of technical expertise, and facilitate collaboration among cross-functional finance and business partners to solve problems and implement process changes.
• Enjoy working on a fun team and have a clear ability to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
We’d love to hear from people with:
• Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Accounting, Finance or related field strongly preferred
• 5+ years relevant experience, including experience at a multi-national company
• Performing complex accounting activities in a high growth environment at a large, multi-national, public company
• Developing, interpreting, and implementing accounting policies and processes in a high growth environment, while ensuring strong internal control environment
• Applying US GAAP to business transactions, working knowledge of internal controls
• CPA and/or public accounting experience a plus
• Experience with systems and reporting tools including ERP systems, such as Oracle, HFM, Incorta, Blackline. Proficient with automation tools such as Alteryx and Blackline preferred
• Displays initiative and has the ability to improve processes and document work performed
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; organized and attentive to details; ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with peers across organization

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
