Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations for a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in accounting functions, strong technical proficiency, and a commitment to accuracy. Responsibilities: • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice review and payment scheduling. • Handle revenue entries and maintain detailed records in accounting systems. • Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. • Conduct system reconciliations to ensure consistency across accounting platforms. • Input data efficiently and verify its accuracy to maintain clean financial records. • Process invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors. • Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze and organize financial data. • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting workflows and resolve issues. Requirements • Proven experience in account reconciliation and accounts payable processes. • Proficiency with Financial Edge software; familiarity with Raiser's Edge is a plus. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and journal entry preparation. • Ability to manage and process invoices with a high level of accuracy. • Familiarity with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
