Job Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk Location: Lakewood, NJ Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $49,000-$51,000 annually Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing and processing incoming payments, ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients. This role includes the oversight of collections, the reconciliation of accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. Accounts Receivable Clerk Key Responsibilities: + Invoice Processing: Generate and distribute accurate customer invoices for warehouse services, shipping, storage, and handling in a timely manner. + Payment Posting: Record incoming payments to customer accounts and ensure all transactions are accurately documented in the financial system. + Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable records to confirm all payments have been properly posted and investigate any discrepancies. + Collections Management: Follow up with customers regarding past-due balances by sending reminders, making collection calls, and escalating issues when necessary. + Customer Service: Respond to inquiries related to billing, account balances, and warehouse charges, providing prompt and courteous support. + Sales Order Entry: Create and enter sales or service orders into the system based on communication from the Sales or Warehouse Operations teams. + Reporting: Prepare regular reports on account status, aging of receivables, and outstanding balances to support financial visibility and decision-making. + Data Entry & Maintenance: Maintain updated and accurate customer records, including warehouse agreements, rate schedules, and payment history. + Audit & Documentation Support: Assist with the preparation of documentation and records required for internal audits, external reviews, or compliance checks. + Regulatory & Policy Compliance: Ensure all billing and receivables activities align with company policies and comply with relevant industry, state, and federal regulations. Accounts Receivable Job Qualifications: + Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. + Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting is preferred. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy. + Excellent organizational and time management skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP). + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.
