Administrative Director
With minimal supervision, responsible for the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective laboratory services and administrative management of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Oversees the operations of the department including but not limited to human resource management, supplies management, fiscal management, continuous quality improvement, employee and customer satisfaction and the advancement of the strategic goals and objectives of the Department and the Hospital.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology.

Master’s degree in Health Management, Business or related field preferred.

Licensures/Certifications:
Certification in Laboratory Medicine/Pathology

Experience:
At least 8 years’ progressive management experience in a relevant professional and clinical environment

Knowledge of pathology theories, standards and principlesSkill in managing multi-function teamsSkill in using computers and personal productivity applicationsSkill in developing and implementing short and long-term goalsAbility to develop and balance a budgetAbility to use a variety of resources to resolve problems

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Manages and coordinates the operations of the Department in collaboration with the Chairman for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine to ensure the delivery of services

Strategic Planning

Develops, implements, and ensures achievement of short- and long-term strategic goalsActively participates in program developmentRecognizes the role of the providers and customers’ needs and includes these needs in the development of assigned services’ clinical programs and business planningProduces revenue growth through participation in activities such as physician recruitment, promotion of assigned clinical/ancillary services to physicians and insurers and promotion of managed care contracting

Financial Management

Manages and oversees the budget of assigned areasDevelops operating budget and makes recommendations for capital budget in consultation with appropriate Hospital staffMaintains inventory and analyzes cost of supplies and servicesEnsures accounts payable issues are managed appropriatelyProcesses payroll for assigned areas

Human Resource functions

Manages human resources within established productivity guidelines and the personnel budgetFacilitates training and development effortsMaintains employee competenciesMonitors and reviews work performance of the staffInterviews and selects personnelPlans and designs staffing patterns and staffing mixesEmpowers and encourages managers and individuals to function independently

Service Excellence

Monitors, investigates and responds to customer feedback, modifying systems/processes as neededEmphasizes patient satisfaction and works with physicians and staff within their assigned clinical/ancillary services to increase awareness and develop a culture emphasizing patient focused care and patient satisfactionRecognizes the role of insurers and the importance of their relationship to their assigned operationsFacilitates development of clinical protocols, critical pathways, and case management practices and protocols

Quality Initiatives

Maintains standards to meet all regulatory and review agency requirementsOversees staff involvement in quality control and improvement efforts, general safety, and infection control proceduresMaintains risk management systems to enhance patient and employee safetyFacilitates and participates in interdisciplinary unit quality improvement processes and the development of outcome measurements for care delivered within their assigned clinical/ancillary servicesDesigns and modifies patient care activities and work flow within their assigned clinical services to optimize the patient-in/patient-out process, patient outcomes, and efficient use of resources

Pay Range

$119,854.57 - $215,738.22

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
