How will you make an impact in this role?
The GMNS Pricing team is responsible for the single largest source of American Express' revenue, Merchant discount revenue. The GMNS Pricing team leverages Merchant pricing to encourage acceptance and grow coverage, to increase merchant satisfaction and to drive GMNS revenue and profit growth through customer-centric pricing principles, more flexible pricing architecture and innovative pricing solutions. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, execute, and implement critical strategies and programs aimed at aligning our international pricing policies, automating critical procesess, create streamlined reports to measure pricing activity and create pricing strategies that align to the value we deliver and to the competitive landscape in LACC
This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of International Pricing Initiatives and LACC Pricing Strategy. Additionally, this role has exposure to leaders across GMNS, predominantly in Finance, Controllership, and Client Management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Create consistent and streamlined reports that clearly outline existing trends and provide intelligence on Pricing activity across the globe. Manage end-to-end projects aimed at automating and enhancing existing pricing processes. Development and execution of International Pricing initiatives to ensure our merchant pricing is aligned with the value we provide and to deliver financial benefits to GMS and to the Blue Box. Supporting activities, including contract renegotiations and new signings, across the LAC region. Contribute to ongoing partnerships with merchants by exhibiting knowledge of industry and merchant-specific opportunities and challenges. Supporting GMS activities, including contract renegotiations and new signings, across LACC Oversee tracking of pricing initiative benefits, providing periodic updates to Pricing leaders Support the local Pricing Teams in ad hoc business initiatives as required pertaining LACC Discount Rate, including providing timely responses to questions raised by the GMS Pricing leaders, key Finance LFO's, and other senior leaders.Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 1-3 years' experience in financial services industry and/or other Finance related roles. Project management experience Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills, including high proficiency with Excel. Comfort and experience in analyzing financial data, drawing inferences and making recommendations Results focused, with ability to prioritize effectively and work in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines. Proactive nature with close attention to detail and solid project management skills Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Strong work ethic – a passion for high quality and responsiveness to internal customers. B.A. or B.S. required. Understanding of merchant business or payments industry is a plus.
