AP/AR Specialist

Location: Drayton, SC
Compensation: $50,000 - $60,0000

System One is seeking an experienced AP/AR Specialist to join its finance team. This individual will play a vital role in overseeing both accounts payable and receivable functions while supporting broader accounting and project financial operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in construction or a project-based industry who values accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

Accurately process vendor invoices with proper coding and approvals

Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices

Handle weekly payment processing including checks, ACH, and wires

Monitor AP aging reports and resolve discrepancies with vendors

Collect and track lien waivers and subcontractor compliance docs (W-9s, insurance, etc.)

Accounts Receivable

Generate and issue customer invoices tied to project milestones

Apply incoming payments to accounts and follow up on outstanding balances

Collaborate with project managers to ensure billing accuracy

Prepare aging reports and assist with collection efforts

General Accounting & Compliance

Support month-end close activities, accruals, and reconciliations

Maintain accurate documentation and support audit processes

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Minimum 3 years in AP/AR roles; construction/project accounting background preferred

Familiarity with AIA billing, lien laws, and job cost accounting

Proficiency in accounting software 

Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Detail-oriented with excellent time management and communication skills
