Assembly Technician II

JOB SUMMARY

The primary focus of an Assembly Technician II is responsible for assembling and installing industrial control panels for automated equipment. This position must be able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and be able to recognize components. The Assembly Technician II will require drilling & taping holes, cut, strip, bend, and mount wires to connect electrical units within the panel.

JOB DUTIES
Essential Duties

Follow detailed assembly instructions in a variety of formats (i.e., drawings, schematics, bills of material, internal procedures or some combination thereof), and report work completed on a daily basisRecognize and report problems with quality, processes, equipment or materials to Production Lead, Supervisor or Operations ManagerMaintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing best practicesWork with a moderate degree of supervisionLayout enclosures and sub panels for assembly/cutouts based on information providedIdentify components and its intended function as it applies to equipment to be builtUnderstand various wiring methods of connection and apply proper methods to the equipment being builtPerform quality checks on completed assemblies, as neededMaintain and update the results related to various tests and inspection procedures conducted regarding the product specificationsMake sure that all the parts, labor, and other processes are progressing at the given timeResolve discrepancies and maintain the integrity of panelsProvide hands-on job function training to coworkers as neededOther duties, as assigned, within capabilities and responsibility of the position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Construction field environment may require climbing stairs, standing, bending, and lifting

WORKING CONDITIONS

Office, production, and manufacturing shop environmentMay be required to work overtime as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational/Experience Requirements

High School Diploma/GED3+ years as an Assembly Technician and/or similar positionAbility to distinguish colors (wires)

 

Special Skills, Knowledge, or Abilities

Read blueprints and/or standard work instructionsProficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and OutlookAbility to learn new computer software programsStrong electro-mechanical skills (soldering, proper wire stripping and crimping techniques)Excellent communication skills; written and verbalAbility to work in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple tasks concurrentlyAttention to detailHighly motivated, organized and team playerBuild relationships with customersBasic knowledge of necessary instruments and tools

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidate must have a Texas valid drivers' license and insuranceDue to our customer base applicants for this position may be subject to a criminal background check that includes being fingerprinted for a CMS Badge

OTHER

Requires a good driving record, drug testing, and a clear background check. Ability to work 6:30am to 3:00 pm.
