The department offers clinical, academic, and administrative opportunities. The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s mission to provide excellent rehabilitative services through advances in clinical care and the discovery of knowledge that promotes recovery, functional restoration, and community re-integration of individuals with limitations in function and activity participation due to injury or disease.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Promoting collaborative efforts across health-related disciplines, supporting patient advocacy, and training future care providers and leaders in patient care and research.Teaching rehabilitation residents, fellows, medical students, and physical therapy students Developing and sustaining an environment in the patient care units that supports excellence and innovation in clinical practice and patient care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and standards that support positive patient care outcomes to include excellent risk-adjusted outcomes and serving as a role model in professional behavior and leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
Board Certified in Physical Medicine and RehabilitationTexas Medical License or ability to obtain a Texas Medical License Outstanding clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills and excellent administrative and organizational abilities Commitment to excellence, discovery, and service.
