Assistive Technology Specialist (Part-time)
The Assistive Technology Specialist serves in the role to provide assistive technology evaluation, consultation, comprehensive and individualized training for Individuals, Direct Support Staff, Family and others involved in the support of individuals with disabilities. The primary goal is to enhance the Individual’s ability to promote and increase their quality of life. This position will be in the Burlington County, New Jersey area.  JOB DUTIES: Identifies hardware and software appropriate to individuals' assessed needs. Provides written assessment reports, participates as a part of ISP team and serves as the assistive technology resource expert at meetings. Assists in the ordering of equipment, delivery and set-up and provides hands on instructions on set up, maintenance, and ongoing consultation to individuals, family and staff, relative to the use of the equipment. Provides coordination of routine maintenance, troubleshooting and management of repair needs of assistive technology software and equipment. Develops and maintains resources, manages assistive technology inventory, including hardware and software provided to individuals. Educates and trains staff through interagency in-services, by introducing the assistive technology concept, providing education on evidence-based modalities, best practices, success stories, testimonials and available resources.
