As an Associate in the Business and Information Services group, you will have the unique opportunity to work with many different professionals who have diverse backgrounds and varying industry expertise (a typical deal team includes an Associate, Vice President or Director, and Managing Director). Additionally, you will have the opportunity to interact with the bank’s senior credit officers, private equity sponsors, portfolio company management teams, and other industry partners (e.g., law firms, accounting firms, industry experts, etc.). Overall, you will be an integral member of the deal team that is responsible for the complete deal process from loan origination through to post-closing portfolio management.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management for ~10-15 Existing Borrowers:

Monitor borrower financial performance trends and liquidity via the review, analysis, and entry of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements into the bank’s internal portfolio management softwareReview quarterly compliance certificates to ensure accuracy and completenessEngage with borrower CFOs (or similar position) to get qualitative updates on performanceListen to annual or other interim lender update calls and ask questions, when appropriateMaintain borrower credit filesEnsure appropriate borrower risk ratingPrepare internal quarterly, semi-annual, and/or annual review memosPresent internal portfolio review memos to senior credit executives at semi-annual review meetingsWork with underwriting deal team to prepare and execute all amendments/waivers for existing borrowers

New Deal Underwritings:

Support lead underwriter on deal diligenceReview data room materials and all third-party reportsBuild financial projection modelPrepare internal credit approval memosDemonstrate a strong understanding of all material sections of legal documentsManage loan closing process

Education, Experience & Skills

 Required Qualifications:

A BS/BA, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field2-4 years of work experience in an Accounting/Finance/Banking-related position (or a Master’s degree and 1-3 years)Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial statementsAbility to answer unstructured business questions and work independently to drive tasks to completionHigh degree of attention to detailAbility to work well with others and on teamsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentSuperior written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint        

Other Desired/Beneficial Qualifications:

Experience working on leveraged loan transactionsExperience working within the private equity space at an investment bank or other institutionGraduate of a formalized credit training programReceived or is in the process of achieving either the CFA or CPA professional certificationsFinancial modeling experienceMBA

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 USD to $130,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
