Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. We are looking for an Associate Production Operations Specialist to join the Technology & Operations team in Houston, providing support to Telemundo Houston. As an Associate Production Operations Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for assisting in preparing and executing the operation of the automated production control system (APC) for live and taped television broadcasts. One of their primary responsibilities will be to collaborate in the editing of the news broadcasts. Job Responsibilities:
+ Edit stories and clips to ensure high-quality, engaging content aligned with production standards.
+ Assist in operating control room systems and automation, using templates to optimize technical directing, audio mixing, robotics control, live/remote segment cut-ins, video playback, graphics insertion, and signal switching.
+ Assist in giving direction and timing to talent and other technicians during broadcasts and studio productions.
+ Develop and maintain system documentation for operational and troubleshooting purposes.
+ Performs other control room and production-related duties as assigned.
+ Required on-site. This position is required to be performed full-time onsite from an NBCUniversal designated work site.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Minimum 1 year of experience working in video production or local news, preferably TD/Directing experience with Ross Overdrive Production Automation or a similar system.
+ Experience operating production switchers, as well as manual and automated video and graphics playout, and audio mixing consoles.
+ Familiarity with non-linear editing systems used in news production.
+ Video editing skills.
Desired Qualification:
+ Must have strong oral/written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team, and be able to work accurately under pressure and deadlines.
+ Must demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure and think critically.
