Overview JCPenney Pro Salon Manager This multi-faceted role combines leadership, education, and artistry. Serving as a brand ambassador for JCPenney Salon – driving product knowledge, highlighting artistic excellence, and building strong relationship within the company and professional beauty industry. This high-impact position thrives on-stage, in-store, and behind the scenes developing artists, inspiring stylists, and elevating the brand across all touchpoints. The role demands a blend of creative vision and technical proficiency that reflects the highest standards. Requirements Licensed Cosmetologist with strong technical and artistic expertise. 5+ years of experience in salon industry, with at least 2 years in education Strong technical and artistic expertise across all hair types and textures in the areas of haircutting, hair color and styling. Strong background in producing high-quality, artistic content with keen eye for detail and visual story telling. Portfolio of work Job Responsibilities Acts as a brand ambassador, promoting Salon brand awareness internally and externally through activations including but not limited to photo shoots, training videos, PR, trade shows, social media, and events. Attends and participates in Beauty + Salon brand and industry events as an ambassador to JCPenney. Exhibits passion and commitment to the Beauty industry earning wide respect as a Beauty Professional. Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. For example, takes timely action on important or difficult issues. Identifies and pursues new opportunities that benefit the organization. Oversees a select group of local stores to support training, masterclasses, and events. Partners with Sales and Education Trainer in market to support business needs. Area will vary depending on location. Partner with GM Partners and advises with Sr Managers of Sales and Education in Salon on service artistry. Provides input and feedback on potential Salon service opportunities. Brings together Beauty industry innovation and services that aligns with our diverse JCPenney customer. Supports Sr Sales and Education Managers on developing curriculum to support new product and service launches in Salon. Participates in Train the Trainer sessions, sharing brand information, trends, and techniques. Demonstrates and advises on product use and technique. Supports the execution of the Beauty + Salon Services, Experiences, and Events strategy. Organizes, and executes in-store and community events, such as masterclasses, creative and educational programs. Role requires weekend shifts for events and masterclasses. Follows Beauty and Salon trends and makes recommendations on new educational opportunities to help position Beauty + Salon as a trend-right beauty destination. Creates engaging content that spotlights industry trends, product benefits and artistry. Highly proficient in the use of MS Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Business Fluency Proven history of organizing work and problem solving. Effective communication with the ability to build relationships; strong presentation and facilitation skills to individuals/groups at all levels of an organization. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills. Must be an initiative-taker, exercise follow-through and demonstrate professional initiative on any matters presented whether they are inside or outside the normal scope of the role. Works well remotely under guidance but not constant supervision. Role requires up to 80% travel. Role requires weekend shifts during the year.
