Job Overview:
The Packaging Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of daily packaging operations within the distribution center. This position is responsible for overseeing the packaging line, monitoring quality and efficiency, training team members, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards. The Packaging Lead works closely with supervisors and cross-functional teams to meet production goals and ensure that all packaging processes are carried out with accuracy and care.
Responsibilities:
1. Packaging & Production Oversight
Supervise and coordinate daily packaging operations across various production lines (AMS 1, AMS 2, Image, CB FFS, FC FFS, and Liquid). Set up packaging lines and verify all equipment is functioning properly before production begins. Monitor and track units produced, ensuring accuracy, weight, and product quality. Perform quality checks and document findings to ensure finished goods meet company standards.2. Training & Team Support
Train and coach team members on safe and efficient line operations. Provide clear direction and ongoing support to packaging associates throughout shifts. Assist the supervisor in promoting teamwork, accountability, and strong performance.3. Shipping/Receiving Support
Verify inbound raw goods meet company quality standards and document any discrepancies. Support outbound loading by ensuring product is properly wrapped, stacked, and secured in trailers.4. Inventory & Documentation
Accurately report scrap, overfill, and completed production on daily reports. Assist in inventory counts and ensure proper stock rotation of packaging materials. Maintain and submit all required documentation accurately and on time.5. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor promptly.6. Safety, Sanitation & Compliance
Maintain a clean and organized production area, free of debris and hazards. Ensure team adherence to all OSHA, MSDS, and company-specific safety protocols. Participate in maintaining security and cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding grounds. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 6 months of warehouse or packaging experience required. Forklift experience required; must be able to complete and pass forklift certification. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow instructions. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others. Experience with production equipment and warehouse systems preferred.Benefits:
