Family Service Association is seeking to hiring a full time, 35 hours per week, Billing Research Technician. Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Billing Research Technician supports the billing and reimbursement process by posting payments, resolving claim issues, and managing EDI transmissions. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing, and the ability to troubleshoot billing and payment discrepancies to ensure accurate and timely processing

Duties and Responsibilities:

Post payments, adjustments, and denials from EOBs, ERAs, and patient payments accurately and timely.Research and resolve claim rejections, denials, and underpayments by communicating with payers and internal departments.Monitor and manage EDI transactions, including claims submissions (837), remittance advice (835), and eligibility verifications (270/271).Identify and resolve EDI rejections and errors to ensure successful electronic transmission.Assist in transitioning paper claim submissions to electronic formats to improve processing speed and reduce errors.Maintain accurate documentation of billing activities, including payment posting, claim follow-up, and EDI troubleshooting.Respond to reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or supervisor

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 2 years in BillingExperience working with clearinghouses and payer portalsFamiliarity with denial management and appeal processesAbility to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Remittance Advices (ERAs)
