Blackstone Private Wealth
Blackstone Private Wealth was established to answer the growing demand for Blackstone products from high-net worth investors. Partnering with many of the world’s largest private banks and wealth management firms as well as family offices, Blackstone’s Private Wealth team packages and delivers the full breadth of Blackstone’s alternative product capability to these firms and their clients and provides ongoing product and advisor support, as well as education and training around alternatives.
Job Description:
This role will work on a variety of interesting and cutting-edge legal and general corporate matters, with a focus on the formation and ongoing management of credit and real estate registered funds.
Primary job responsibilities will include:
Participating in the design and launch of new registered funds, broadly offered private funds, collective investment trusts, and other kinds of investment vehicles.
Research new product ideas and issues and work with counsel and stakeholders to propose solutions.
Coordinate and prepare materials to facilitate decisions regarding structuring of new products.
Overseeing the ongoing day-to-day management of new and existing registered funds and other Private Wealth vehicles.
Assisting leaders with project management on fund formation matters and participating in product development of various investment structures across multiple jurisdictions.
Support fund governance matters, liaise with external counsel, create, review and present from time-to-time, board materials and provide guidance to business colleagues and senior management on board proposals.
Managing regulatory filings (e.g., 8-Ks, 10-Q/Ks, Form 10s, N-2s, N-CSRs, and prospectus updates) and assisting with day-to-day oversight of legal matters.
Assisting with the development of a marketing and fundraising plan for registered funds.
Working with the in-house Legal & Compliance team and external counsel to monitor and implement legal and regulatory developments that impact the registered funds.
Providing regulatory and legal advice to investment professionals and business personnel, including preparation of reports for the investment team and senior management.
Other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience practicing law as a law firm associate or an in-house counsel, preferably focused on registered funds / investment management law. Capital markets or similar public company background would also be suitable.
Familiarity working on BDCs, interval funds, broadly offered private funds, and/or collective investment trusts is preferred but not required.
Experience with public company filings is required.
Creative problem solver with a can-do attitude.
Significant experience with the Investment Company Act of 1940 and familiarity with the Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
Learn quickly and communicate complicated matters with an awareness of business needs.

Expected annual base salary range:
$150,000 - $250,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
