Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Richmond, California. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of bookkeeping practices. HR & Administration: Recruit, onboard, and manage admin staff; oversee assistant and filing duties; update employee manuals and safety requirements. Payroll & Finance: Handle weekly payroll and taxes; manage vacation schedules and mileage; oversee A/P, A/R, and cash flow; reconcile accounts; enter billing into accounting software. Compliance: Submit union and workers’ comp reports; notify estimators of wage changes; complete tax filings (payroll, sales, multi-state); support year-end financial review; maintain accounting system backups. Insurance & Licensing: Serve as liaison for audits (union, insurance, tax); manage contractor and business licenses; coordinate with brokers on coverage; handle injury claims and follow-ups. Operations: Review aging reports monthly, follow up on collections; ensure proper project closeouts; enforce drug and safety policies; maintain employee handbook and procedures. Preferred: Experience with Construction Partner software is a strong plus.
