Overview

East West Bank is currently seeking a Bank Secrecy Act Lead (BSA) Analyst for our Anti-Money Launder Group. The Lead BSA Analyst will review new and existing customer accounts to ensure compliance with BSA and USA Patriot Act and to determine their risk rating profile, including both domestic and cross-border customers. The customer reviews include mitigating risk, identifying suspicious activity, escalate important issues, and working with relationship managers and account officers.  The Lead BSA Analyst performs more complex reviews than BSA Analyst I/II and Senior Analysts and serves as an escalation point for guidance for those analysts when they encounter more complex factors in their assigned reviews.

Responsibilities Complete Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews on high-risk individuals and entities to determine risk rating profileAnalyze data and results of existing transaction monitoring reports to determine if further investigation is warranted, if so, take appropriate action using EWB financial platformGather information from outside resources such as Internet searches, third-party vendors, public records, newspaper articles, etc.Conduct follow-up with account officer for any missing or necessary documentation.Review results from third-party vendors regarding authentication of identification on individuals and businesses, OFAC and government list, closed for cause, etc.Conduct further research as necessary to complete a comprehensive customer profileEscalate to appropriate department as necessaryDevelop relationships within appropriate levels of management for issue identification and resolutionPrepare and documents analysis on summary write-upsComplete all assigned training.Stay up to date and knowledgeable on BSA/AML/OFAC regulatory requirements and FinCEN guidelinesUse analytical skills to produce and follow leads, as well as link common or related activities to develop complete picture of suspicious activity and uncover new trends in fraudulent behaviorAssist BSA Officer/Managers and internal partners on preparing, logging and providing documents/materials per request from law enforcement officials.Additional duties as assigned Qualifications 5-7 years’ experience of BSA/AML/OFAC related activities in financial services industry preferredExperience conducting financial crime investigations, money laundering monitoring and/or other related BSA/AML and/or legal and compliance experienceBanking, operations, BSA & USA Patriot Act background including performing EDD reviews on complex relationships requiredBachelor’s Degree preferredFamiliar with BSA/AML relevant law and regulations both in US and ChinaWell-organized, analytical, and critical thinking skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationFluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese is preferred for this roleStrong attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, creative thinker, internet savvyCAMS certification preferred; we will pay for certification study for interested candidates Compensation The base pay range for this position is USD $30.00/Hr. - USD $40.00/Hr.
