What You'll Do

As a Business Development Advisor within the Public Sector Practice Area (PSPA), you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth across Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead business development initiatives, manage procurement and proposal processes, and ensure the delivery of high-quality insights, tools, and reporting to support strategic decision-making. This is a high-impact role requiring strong analytical capabilities, excellent project management skills, and a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.

 

Business Development Leadership & Research Support

Conduct in-depth research and analysis on markets, industries, competitors, and prospective clients to inform business development strategiesContribute to the strategic and operational planning of the PSPA and client development initiativesParticipate and contribute to global Public Sector Risk & Contract Management (RCM) advisor networkCoordinate marketing activities, including event planning and execution, as neededLead the development and management of practice-wide business development calls, reporting, and activity trackingLead on compliance and risk management activities including adherence with global policies and best practiceSupport case teams and clients with research, knowledge materials, and insight generationManage cross-functional priority projects aligned with the Client & Commercial Operations (CCO) agendaServe as a core contributor to major proposal bids and other BD initiatives

 

Public Sector Procurement & Proposal Management

Monitor the public sector consulting landscape and identify relevant procurement opportunitiesScreen and evaluate tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), assessing fit and opportunityLead and coordinate the end-to-end tender/proposal process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissionsBuild and refine systems to capture, organise, and reuse case and proposal content efficiently

 

Proposal Tools & Reporting Systems

Design and maintain tools that support proposal development, client engagement, and tracking proposal outcomes, panel memberships, and contracting updatesEnsure compliance with all reporting requirements and contractual obligationsMaintain an organised repository of the Practice Area’s contracts, templates, and support documents

What You'll Bring

Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in a Business Development Advisor role or bring experience supporting commercial opportunities in a professional services or consulting environment.Public sector familiarity: Ideally brings experience working with or alongside government clients, including direct exposure to public procurement processes and navigating stakeholder dynamics.End-to-End Ownership: Strong initiative and accountability in managing complex business development or commercial processes from inception through execution, with a focus on achieving strategic outcomes.Analytical Insight: Proficient in gathering and evaluating data from diverse sources, synthesising findings, and generating actionable insights to support decision-making and business growth.Technical Proficiency: Advanced literacy in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence, coach, and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.Effective Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience in delivering presentations, leading meetings, and facilitating discussions to drive alignment and engagement.
