Job Description

The Buyer will be responsible for monitoring, managing, planning, and purchasing materials to support the end-to-end supply chain in a fast-paced FDA regulated manufacturing environment. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain operations and involves direct collaboration with internal and external customers to plan and forecast demand, create purchasing schedules, source materials, and monitor inventories. The Buyer will support daily manufacturing operations, marketing requirements, customer orders, and new qualifications or projects.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure an uninterrupted supply of all materials to support manufacturing and commercial needs, adjusting delivery dates with suppliers as necessary.Collaborate with internal and external customers to plan demand, generate forecasts and purchasing schedules, and source materials.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to drive performance and meet target deliverables.Monitor supplier on-time delivery (OTD) and report any trends impacting manufacturing.Maintain data integrity in the ERP system for accurate ordering and reporting of delivery dates.Conduct daily purchase order maintenance to ensure accuracy in supplier information, product details, delivery locations, and pricing.Monitor open orders daily to ensure on-time, in-full material receipts.Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure all purchase orders and invoices are closed and free of issues weekly.Evaluate safety stock levels and make inventory adjustments based on lead times and economic order quantities.Serve as the first line of defense for quality, pricing, and delivery issues, escalating as necessary.Order materials in compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.Work with Supplier Quality to set up new suppliers and materials, minimizing product inspection delays.Handle disposition of questionable material and process debit memos for returns.Monitor inventory of discontinued items to ensure timely replacement with validated materials.Essential SkillsIn-depth knowledge of ERP systems in a Manufacturing/Supply Chain environment.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in advanced Excel and Power BI.Proficiency in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, and SAP.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Pharma, Medical Device, or Biologics industry in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing.Experience with products controlled by shelf life.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification from Association For Supply Chain Management (ASCM) preferred.Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma theories and principles, Green/Black Belt preferred.Proficiency with statistics and advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.Strong verbal and written communication skills with negotiation acumen.Experience in team building and development.Ability to work autonomously with strong interpersonal skills.Work Environment

This position requires working four days in the office (Monday to Thursday) with the option to work remotely on Fridays. The work environment is dynamic and involves collaboration with diverse groups of people, ensuring a high level of service and operational efficiency.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
