Job Description

The Buyer is responsible for planning and procuring materials to support both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket sales. The role involves supporting cost reduction measures, evaluating quotations for outsourcing work, and implementing cost-saving measures to achieve the lowest end cost while maintaining acceptable quality. Additionally, the Buyer coordinates the disposition of rejected parts promptly and cost-effectively to prevent production stoppages and workforce downtime, tracks timelines and budgets to keep projects on track, and maintains supplier records regarding lead times, performance measures, and purchase orders.

ResponsibilitiesManaged material planning and procurement for OE and Aftermarket production, ensuring timely supply chain operations. Supported cost reduction initiatives and evaluated outsourcing quotes to optimize production expenses.Implemented cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards. Handled rejected parts disposition to minimize production delays and downtime. Tracked project timelines and budgets to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. Maintained supplier data, including lead times, performance, and purchase orders. Issued and adjusted purchase orders based on production schedules and inventory needs. Procured manufacturing aids and coordinated detailed production schedules with manufacturing teams. Supported new product development and automation through procurement planning. Generated and analyzed reports to support management decisions.Essential SkillsProficiency in SAP/ERP systems.Experience in production planning and purchasing.Strong negotiation skills.Understanding of supply chain and logistics.Ability to read blueprints.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience.Experience in buying and procurement.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
