Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Supply Chain Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for handling the purchasing of all materials, supplies, services, and equipment for the site while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect the Kettle River Operations.
Essential Functions Manage requisitions and purchase orders, source suppliers, assist with the development and negotiation of contracts based on user requirements, and utilize competitive processes to achieve cost savings. Expand supplier base, evaluate proposals, and support contract execution and capital expenditure initiatives. Coordinate logistics and ensure on-time delivery of materials and services. Expedite overdue orders and update ERP systems with current delivery timelines. Manage returns, credit requests, and purchase order modifications. Arrange transportation and approve related freight invoices. Maintain accurate procurement records, perform necessary clerical tasks, and support on-call rotation. Maintain professional relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. Provide timely updates to end users on order status and critical issues. Address discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and warehouse receipts. Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, safety protocols, and environmental standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills 3-5 years previous purchasing and sourcing experience required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred. Ability to analyze situations, make logical decisions, and choose best course of action. Must understand and know how to operate computerized purchasing and materials management systems and standard office equipment. Good time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize work is essential. General understanding of mine operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing MS Office Suite. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the team. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills. Requires valid driver's license.
