Description Experienced Piping and Structural Designer/Drafter. Works from the engineer's sketched flow sheets and P&ID’s to design/draw complete all details of seawater and brackish water and reverse osmosis systems. Responsible for designing various reverse osmosis plant layouts in 3D and transfer information to 2D sketches. The individual will produce designs for equipment/piping, piping tie-ins, equipment arrangement drawings, bill of materials (BOM), piping supports, steel tanks, access walkways and all other fabricated items around the desalination plant. Must have piping design skills, and ability to visualize items within a 3D space to ensure no interference upon installation. Must be able to work with Project managers to gather measurement data from existing water/ reverse osmosis equipment. Proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D is preferred. Skills AutoCAD, Design, Cad, Civil 3d, Drafting, CAD 3D, CAD 2D, Civil, Civil 2D, piping design, piping, plant 3d, water & wastewater Top Skills Details + Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or CAD discipline preferred or related experience + 3-5 yrs minimum professional work experience highly preferred. + Relevant experience in the water treatment industry, to include experience with reverse-osmosis system design; sea water reverse osmosis (SWRO) experience highly preferred. + Candidate must have mechanical design experience of various piping materials including PVC, stainless steel, and FRP. Prefer to also have experience with design of mechanical support systems for piping, valves, pumps, and instrumentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong 2D/3D CAD Experience + Working knowledge of Microsoft Projects is a plus. Skilled in Autodesk Plant 3D, Autodesk Vault, Autodesk AutoCAD, and in general PC usage. Would consider a candidate with Autodesk Inventor + Ability to produce drawings using drafting techniques outlines in our department SPO. + Able to produce designs from general design concepts. + Able to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished either as written, oral, diagrammatic, or in schedule form. + Able to produce complete Bills of Material for the drawings produced. Work Environment Training can be up to 3 weeks. After initial training period, high likelihood of going hybrid. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00/hr.
