The Role
The CAD Designer is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of high-quality designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role ensures technical accuracy, adherence to design standards, and efficiency in project execution. The CAD Designer mentors team members, manages technical resources, and collaborates with engineering teams to maintain best practices and streamline processes.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee the use of CAD software, drafting systems, and related programs to produce accurate and efficient designs.
+ Execute and enforce QA/QC plans to ensure compliance with project and company standards.
+ Track project deliverables, client reviews, and technical input to maintain schedules and quality expectations.
+ Conceptualize and develop plans, layouts, sections, details, and bills of materials to meet construction or fabrication requirements.
+ Support efforts in developing, maintaining , and updating technical resources and CAD standards.
+ Support CAD technicians, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry best practices.
+ Train team members in CAD techniques, software use, and efficiency strategies.
+ Ensure adherence to departmental design standards, assisting in compliance and updates as needed.
+ Conduct quality control checks on drawings and models to verify accuracy and completeness.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and enforce CAD-related standards and best practices.
+ Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
+ 2+ years of strong CAD/Design Software experience, including MicroStation, GeoPak, and AutoCAD.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with AutoCAD LT, including block creation, pen tables, and templates.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including generating cross-sections and profiles from topography.
+ Experience working with topographic surfaces from point clouds generated using lidar or photogrammetric methods.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting demands from various stakeholders.
+ Experience developing and enforcing CAD standards for engineering teams.
+ Proven ability to effectively support CAD technicians.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate computers, telephones, printers and keyboards.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be able to use vision to read documents and use computer screens.
+ Work is typically conducted in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels due to office activities and interactions.
+ Must be able to travel occasionally, up to 10%.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule. Employees will be expected to work in the Westminster, CO office (https://maps.app.goo.gl/cBfTcyP14SJaSVVV8) 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
The expected annual base salary range for this position in the Denver area is $61,000.00 - $ 78,000.00 . Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
