Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician II to join our growing Traffic Engineering Group. The ideal candidate will have 2–3+ years of experience in traffic-related design and drafting, with a strong working knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD). This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of transportation projects with a focus on traffic signal design, intersection design, and turn lane layout.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed CAD drawings and plans for traffic signal designs, intersection geometry, and turn lane configurations under the guidance of project engineers.
Utilize Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for drafting and modeling in accordance with project and client standards.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to produce design documents for traffic studies, signal warrant analyses, and construction plans.
Ensure that drawings are accurate, updated, and comply with applicable DOT, municipal, and company standards.
Assist with plan set production, including layout sheets, signal schematics, striping plans, and signing layouts.
Perform revisions to drawings based on redlines and design changes.
Maintain CAD standards and contribute to continuous improvement of drafting practices.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–3+ years of experience in a CAD role within transportation or traffic engineering.
Proficiency with Bentley ORD; MicroStation experience is a plus.
Familiarity with traffic signal layout, intersection design, and geometric improvements.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of state DOT standards and traffic design manuals.
Experience with 3D corridor modeling and digital terrain modeling in ORD.
Familiarity with ITS and traffic control devices is a plus
