Contract Social Services Case Manager (4-6 Months)
Robert Half is seeking an experienced and compassionate Case Manager for a temporary contract position.
Summary of Qualifications
Education
+ Preferred: Master’s in Social Work.
+ Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support:
+ Conduct client intakes, evaluations, and assessments to create tailored case plans that address client needs.
+ Provide support to clients in achieving their goals, resolving emergency needs (housing, health, income, transportation), and offering crisis intervention and/or counseling.
+ Assist with essential tasks like completing forms, translations, and official correspondence (e.g., letters on behalf of clients).
Case Management:
+ Monitor and document progress and service effectiveness, maintaining accurate and organized client files (paper and digital).
+ Advocate for clients within inter-agency service environments.
+ Generate statistical reports and analyze data to assess the success of case plans.
Operational and Administrative Support:
+ Assist with front desk duties in shelter environments.
+ Address client feedback respectfully and ensure their concerns are resolved, escalating issues when necessary.
+ Support overall staff and volunteer efforts, offering feedback on improving case management workflows and processes.
Professional Conduct:
+ Represent the organization in a professional, respectful manner while adhering to its mission and values.
+ Ensure compliance with incident-reporting protocols, attending relevant trainings and staff meetings to remain updated on policies and practices.
Additional Duties:
+ Perform other responsibilities assigned by supervisors to meet program and organizational goals.
Contract Details:
+ Contract Position: 4-6 months.
+ Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
+ Schedule: Flexible availability is required, including potential evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Requirements
Experience
+ A minimum of 2 years in case management or similar roles, encompassing both practical and administrative responsibilities.
+ Demonstrated familiarity with community services that cater to economically disadvantaged or homeless populations, including inter-agency partnerships.
+ Professional background working with underserved or transient populations with co-occurring challenges (e.g., mental health, substance abuse, homelessness, physical disabilities, or victims of violence/trafficking).
+ Experience in nonprofit organizations and shelter facilities is a strong plus.
Skills and Proficiency
+ Language: Bilingual candidates (English-Spanish or Cantonese/Mandarin) are highly preferred.
+ Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn tools like Clarity Database and telecommunication applications (e.g., Zoom).
+ Proven strengths in analysis, written/oral communication, crisis/conflict management, and data management.
+ Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and weekends. Reliable personal transportation and a clean driving record are mandatory.
