Description
Work in collaboration with the treasury and accounting teams to accomplish the following:
Determine daily cash position, working with the treasury department, to properly reflect on the books all cash-related activities.
This position will also prepare bank account and other general ledger reconciliations, maintain Oracle cash management system, and other duties as assigned.
Determine the book and bank cash position on a daily basis by a) concentrating funds in the general account by utilizing automated reporting systems and make all accounting entries related to above.
Perform the monthly reconciliations of a certain number of bank accounts, making the necessary entries.
Function as key person in dealing with all Meredith departments and all banks re: day-to-day activity.
Work with all other Meredith departments re: proper recording of all special activity (void and cancelled checks, return items, foreign exchange charges, lost deposit or payment items and numerous others).
Work with operating banks re: solution of problems and act as liaison between Meredith departments and banks.
Maintain Oracle Cash Management system
Work on special projects as assigned by the department head.
Skills & Qualifications
Four-year college degree or a two-year college degree combined with applicable accounting experience.
Five-years of experience preferred but not mandatory to include experience with cash management functions / bank account reconciliations, experience with basic accounting principles / journal entries, experience with Oracle, experience with bank operations / bank software, proficient in Microsoft Office.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $31.25/hr.
