Cash Application Specialist

**We have a new opportunity for a Cash Application Specialist to join our Credit Control team in Leeds.**
The Credit Control team provides exceptional service across the UK, focusing on reducing debt and improving working capital.
We're looking for a motivated individual ready to make an impact in this **newly created** role as **Cash Application Specialist** . You'll manage remote scanning of payments, post zero pay and adjustments, research credit balances, reconcile client payments, and implement process improvements.
Reporting to the Head of Credit Control, you'll work closely with operational and finance teams.. This role is broad, challenging, and rewarding, requiring ownership, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Based in Leeds, the position offers flexible working in line with Sedgwick’s UK policy. If you're ready for a challenge, we want to hear from you!
**Key duties**
+ **Transfer credits** to past due balances or issue refunds.
+ **Manage Lockbox** and remote scanning of payments.
+ **Post** zero pay and adjustments.
+ **Research** credit balances.
+ Accurately **post and reconcile** client payments.
+ **Apply incoming cash** and cheques to customer accounts.
+ **Reconcile** revenue accounts.
+ Identify and implement **process improvements**
+ **Participate** in team efforts to achieve goals.
**The skills you will have when you apply:**
+ **Team player** , flexible, enthusiastic, innovative, and proactive.
+ **Experienced** with financial software and hands-on accounts receivable.
+ Understanding of **general accounting principles** and ability to follow SOPs.
+ Demonstrates **integrity** and good judgement in handling confidential information.
+ Strong **communication** skills (written and verbal) and effective follow-up.
+ **Attention to detail** and ability to work under tight deadlines.
+ Excellent **organisation** and time management skills.
+ **Analytical** skills and ability to quickly understand and solve issues.
+ **Intermediate skills** in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
