About the Role
The Category Manager – Indirect Corporate Services is responsible for managing Indirect Spend and Procurement Activities in assigned categories within the Corporate Services Category. Category responsibility may include Testing & Certification, Travel, Legal Services, Consulting, Marketing, HR and Finance related services. This individual will have responsibility to define the regional category strategy, working both with stakeholders in multiple areas of the business, as well as global procurement and finance counterparts. This role has a primary US/North America focus with some global responsibility.
The candidate will work with leadership across all divisions of Harman, internal stakeholders and external sources. They will develop/manage the local strategy, while contributing to the overall global team strategy. The candidate will be expected to actively participate in global team meetings, representing their region. Accountable for the year over year expense reduction and other category related targets assigned directly. Support in achieving the overall category targets and objectives to attain overall budget performance as well as expected internal/external performance. This position reports to the Director, Global Indirect Procurement – Corporate Services.
What You Will Do
Develop and execute strategies and sourcing plans that foster the highest level of commitment to continuous improvement in category and service quality, cost, delivery, service, and technology
Plans and directs activities within assigned categories to achieve the maximum measurable results
Serves as the principal liaison representing Harman external towards suppliers on all commercial and business relationship content, including but not limited to quality, cost, delivery, service, contracts, risks and technology objectives
Ensures supplier KPI’s are in place as applicable and needed to audit supplier results, financial performance, and technical capabilities
Ensures supplier commercial and operational processes and principles meet Harman’s requirements in support of best cost, financial performance, and technical capabilities
Leads, directs and manages any Harman commercial negotiations involving the assigned categories and/or services
Collects, and coordinates business and technical requirements from the stakeholder, and supporting functions for negotiations.
Drives & Innovates supplier’s improvements and performance by identifying and implementing solutions to business problems, independently cross-functional and globally as appropriate within assigned categories
Interfaces with functional and business stakeholders as required
Execution of stated goals and objectives toward the defined annual operating and strategic plans of Harman International where applicable
Critical to acquire a full understanding of various marketplace conditions and environments as well as the regional and global implications
Represents Harman supplier interests within Harman towards all functions, levels, and stakeholders regionally and globally as applicable and required within the assigned categories
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Supply Management or related field8+ years Related experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Program Sourcing with a record of increasing responsibilityExperience identifying, planning and executing cost savings initiativesExperience Negotiating Complex Master Service Agreements and Statements of WorkAriba and/or other Procurement Tools knowledgeExperience managing supplier master data and spend dataExperience developing and maintaining benchmarking dataBonus Points if You Have

Salary Ranges:
