Job Title: CFO for Family Office
Location: Marin; 3 days in office
Salary: $215-300k(DOE) + bonus + benefits
About the Role:
A newly established family office is seeking a hands-on and driven CFO — their first dedicated finance hire. This is a unique opportunity to build the finance function from the ground up, offering strong growth potential for the right candidate. We are open to individuals at the Controller to junior CFO level who are excited to grow alongside the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Set up and manage bill pay systems and processes.
+ Build and maintain a comprehensive chart of accounts.
+ Develop and monitor budgets to support capital planning, spending oversight, and strategic decision-making.
+ Oversee payroll administration, employee reimbursements, and related financial operations.
+ Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all financial records and reporting.
+ Implement systems, processes, and controls to support the evolving needs of the office.
+ Act as a trusted financial advisor to the principals, offering insights to support informed financial and operational decisions.
Requirements
+ 7–10 years of relevant experience, ideally within a single family office or similar entrepreneurial environment.
+ Strong technical accounting background with the ability to build financial infrastructure from scratch.
+ High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, self-starter mindset.
+ Experience with payroll, budgeting, cash flow management, and bill pay systems.
+ Ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment with minimal oversight.
+ CPA preferred but not required.
