Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chemist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing raw materials and finished pharmaceutical and biological products following established test procedures, utilizing analytical instrumentation. You will ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), CGMPs, Company Quality Standards, and FDA/EU Guidelines. This position requires effective communication with lead analysts and colleagues and adherence to testing schedules to maintain the integrity of results.
Responsibilities
+ Perform testing of raw materials and finished pharmaceutical and biological products.
+ Utilize analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, AA, and UV-VIS.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in Computer Data Acquisition Systems (CDAS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
+ Ensure compliance with SOPs, CGMPs, Company Quality Standards, and FDA/EU Guidelines.
+ Adhere to testing schedules to accomplish high volumes of critical work.
+ Communicate effectively with lead analysts and colleagues.
+ Maintain organization and a positive attitude in the laboratory.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in an analytical chemistry testing laboratory performing wet chemistry testing and instrumentation including HPLC, GC, AA, and UV-VIS.
+ Proficiency in documentation review.
+ Strong organizational and communication skills.
+ Teamwork and a positive attitude.
+ Knowledge of chemistry, analytical chemistry, laboratory procedures, titration, pipetting, and liquid chromatography.
+ Familiarity with FDA and EU guidelines.
+ Working familiarity with Word and Excel.
+ Operational experience with Water’s Empower data acquisition preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 4-year degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with two or more years of analytical chemistry laboratory experience.
+ Preference given to applicants with a BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
+ Working knowledge of the US and European pharmacopeia.
+ Knowledge of human error awareness and prevention.
+ Investigation and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
You will be working in a FDA/USDA/EU regulated lab environment. The chemistry lab consists of approximately 30 people and is divided into three areas: raw material testing, biological testing, and pharmaceutical testing. The lab focuses on quality control of incoming raw materials and finished products from manufacturing. As a QC lab, there are many turnaround times and deadlines, which can be stressful. Flexibility is required as priorities may shift quickly. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
