**Job Description:** Interacts directly with pediatric patients, families and other health team members and facilitates age-appropriate interactions and activities to help make the health care experience easier for patients and families. Reduces patient and family distress, increases effective patient and family coping, fosters patient independence, and promotes optimum development. Some weekends required. Days of the week will be determined upon hire. Holidays and on-call are not required Eligible for 10% shift differential due to working during the evening / night hours. **Department** **:** Emergency Department at McKay-Dee Hospital **Additional Details** **:** This position will also take calls from inpatient pediatrics, the adult ICU when consulting with children of adult patients, imaging, NICU, and other areas of the hospital that work with kids. This position will work with a team of 3 to support the needs of McKay-Dee Hospital. It is also part of the greater Intermountain Health child life department that offers even more support and resources when needed **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified. + **Documentation of a successfully completed 600-hour internship supervised by a Child Life Specialist** + Child Life Certification from Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP). Documentation required.
