USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, part of Keck Medicine of USC, has been serving the needs of patients in the cities of Glendale and La Cañada Flintridge, as well as the surrounding Foothill communities of Southern California for more than 40 years.

Reporting to the Director of Food Services, the ideal candidate will;
Provide leadership and direction for the nutrition care program for patients, residents, and clients in delivering our contractual agreement with the client. Manage the Clinical Nutrition Department, overseeing 4 Registered Dietitians and the Patient Food Services team of 25 members, including the call center, host hostesses, and tray lineBe Directing and developing patient care programs. Maintain a prominent role, interact with clients, and represent the department on hospital-wide medical staff, nursing, and interdisciplinary committeesPlay an integral role with a mission to exceed client satisfaction through the application of Sodexo programs, and Lead and drive Performance Improvement and Quality Management projectsBe self-directed, flexible, and a team player with excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skillsTakes initiative, is innovative, and passionate about nutrition and elevating our practiceBe responsible for meeting DNV/state/federal and company standards

Qualifications & RequirementsMinimum Education Requirement:
Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:
Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
Credentials Requirement:
Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
Minimum Management Experience: At least 13 months experience supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes.
Minimum Functional Experience: 3 years as experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised and provide professional supervision to developing practitioners
