Responsibilities
Responsible for generalized and specialized assignments or functions in clinical laboratory technology. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
Performs all testing in every area of laboratory operation with the highest degree of quality as outlined in laboratory policy.
Monitors and evaluates tests performed by Laboratory Assistants under his/her direction.
Produces sufficient quantity of work to maintain a reasonable turn around time for all laboratory work.
Using independent judgment proficiently and with a complete understanding of their method, performs all laboratory tests necessary for diagnosis and treatment of patients at the request of attending physician(s).
Qualifications
Education:
A valid California Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologist license is required.
B.S. in Biology One-year internship in a State approved program (preferred).
Licensure:
A valid California Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologist license is required.
CPR is required.

Must be able to demonstrate technical knowledge in all areas of medical technology utilized by Mark Twain St.
Joseph's Hospital Must possess problem solving skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively Must be able to perform mathematical calculations.

Able to do work in spite of frequent interruptions.
Ability to read work product of others, computer/ monitor screens, computer printouts.
