MAG is currently looking for a Cloud Engineer responsible for managing an organization's cloud-based systems and processes at Fort Liberty, NC. The engineer may also be responsible for cloud systems plans and strategy; design, development, and deployment of applications into a Cloud or Hybrid Cloud; and implementation of enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to

Responsible for distributed and managed services Responsible for automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform servicesResponsible for managing system tuning for reliability and efficiencyResponsible for guiding and managing software releases for new features and supporting users through consolidationResponsible for performing the administrative operation of server hardware and software Responsible for Ensuring system security and executing practices and proceduresResponsible for Troubleshooting system related problemsResponsible for Remaining current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applicationsResponsible for Recommending future direction or projects to managementResponsible for Providing expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

5 years of IT and/or software experience.3 years experience working in production Amazon Web Services environmentsDOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred)Experience working with container technologies (Docker, rkt, containerd, and/or lxd)3 years of Kubernetes experience as it relates to maintaining clusters and deploying applications hosted on Kubernetes clustersIn depth understanding of DevOps methodologies and working within Agile teamsWorked with Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or other Continuous Integration toolsExperience working within virtualized environmentsExperience with virtual networking appliances and related technologies (NGINX, HAProxy, F5, AWS ALB/NLB, TLS/SSL)Experience working with Git-centric workflowsExperience in release managementCompetent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activitiesExcellent communication and briefing skills; shows tact; effective listening skills and follow throughSolid worth ethic and the ability to work in a mission critical environmentDetail oriented and organized; possess holistic understanding of IT systemsProvides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experienceProficient composing Linux automation scripts (shell/BASH)The minimum years of related experience required: 5

 

Education 

BS in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent experience) 

 

Desired Requirements 

Experience in multiple public cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)Experience with a platform as a service product such as Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or similarIn-depth working knowledge writing Ansible playbooksExperience managing and deploying applications in an air-gapped environmentExperience working with complex IDaM requirements and technologies (e.g. Active Directory, SAML, openLDAP, hardware tokens, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, etc.)Understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics especially at the container level with APM and/or other tools such as Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, etc)Experience working with Windows automation (PowerShell)Experience working with Gitlab for SDLC (CI/CD) functionalityExperience working with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Discourse. RocketchatExperience using Rancher to manage Kubernetes clusters and Kubernetes-hosted applicationsExperience implementing and maintaining a robust PKI infrastructure within a DOD contextAbility to write rudimentary APIs and/or write automation to interact with existing APIs
