JMT's Pittsburgh Construction Management Team is seeking a Coatings Inspector for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), and municipal highway and bridge projects. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Gather and maintain record documents Make field notes and computations Document daily ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, wind, etc.) during abrasive blasting and coating application Check surface preparation using equipment and/or referenced standards Verify profile depth and levels of salt contamination on the surface Inspect the application of coatings (procedures, mixing, thickness) using test instruments and compare with the manufacturer’s data sheets and project specifications
