Collections Specialist
Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our clients team in Hayward, California. This is a Contract to permanent position where you will play a key role in managing international accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in account management, fluency in Spanish, and experience within the manufacturing industry. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage collections for approximately 50 accounts, ensuring timely payments and resolving any discrepancies. • Communicate effectively in Spanish to handle contracts, purchase orders, and account inquiries with clients. • Monitor credit limits, review payment terms, and conduct basic credit checks using tools like Experian and D& B. • Research and reconcile payment discrepancies, including reviewing purchase orders, invoices, and proof of deliveries. • Prepare and distribute aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and recommend appropriate collection strategies. • Assist with establishing payment terms, credit limits, and account reviews for new and existing clients. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date account records. • Proactively follow up on overdue payments and maintain consistent communication with clients. • Utilize Excel and account portals like Ariba, SAP, or Coupa to track account status and generate reports. • Support special projects and provide backup coverage for domestic accounts as needed. Requirements • Fluency in Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and speak professionally. • Experience in account management within the manufacturing industry is highly preferred. • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with account portals such as Ariba, SAP, or Coupa. • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages accurately. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. • A minimum of three years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related field.
