This incumbent participates as a member of the Compliance Records and Training (CRT) Compliance services team to provide proactive assistance and educational outreach regarding workers' compensation issues and compliance with statute, case law, and rules. This position also analyzes workers compensation issues to advise and educate customers regarding the procedures and strategies to be used in effective claims management. In addition, this person Intervenes in workers’ compensation issues/disputes to promote early alternative and efficient resolution as well as regulates and enforces compliance with workers’ compensation statute, case lase, and rules by determining and issuing warning and penalty assessments for minor non-compliance infractions. This work extends to negotiating settlements on penalty assessments, with supervisor oversight and approval.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Two years of workers' compensation experience.
+ Knowledge and understanding of Minnesota workers' compensation statute, rules, case-law and state and federal laws.
+ Ability to use analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to accurately apply regulations and achieve optimal outcomes.
+ Ability to verify information and identify issues and inconsistencies.
+ Conflict resolution skills sufficient to negotiate disputed issues.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
**Preferred Qualifications**
· Knowledge and understanding of health care billing and payment systems.
· Knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes and procedures.
· Experience working with Work Comp Campus.
· Experience with regulatory compliance.
· Language skills other than English (such as Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen or ASL).
