STRIVE stands for Safety, Teamwork, Responsiveness, Integrity, Value, and Excellence. **Responsibilities** As a **Construction Materials Testing Field Technician** , you will be responsible for conducting on-site testing of concrete, soils, and other construction materials. You will utilize a company-provided vehicle to travel to various job sites within the area. We offer comprehensive on-the-job training, as well as the possibility of obtaining future certifications in construction materials testing. If you are someone who embodies reliability, a robust work ethic, and the ability to collaborate respectfully with both colleagues and clients, then this position aligns perfectly with you. + Ensure that all testing equipment used is functioning properly, maintained as required by company and/or manufacturer's policy, and that all calibrated equipment is within its calibration cycle + Ensure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures + Travel to various job sites in a company-provided vehicle to perform sampling and testing on construction materials, such as concrete, soils and asphalt + Return samples to the office for testing + Report data in an accurate, complete, timely, and understandable fashion in accordance with applicable testing procedures + Operating testing equipment; ensure that all test equipment used is functioning properly and maintained as required by the company and/or manufacturer's policy and that all calibrated equipment is within its calibration cycle + Operate a motor vehicle; maintain company vehicle (schedule oil changes, check fluid levels, inside/outside upkeep) + Communicate with dispatching and/or field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required; cellular phones are to be worn at all times, and calls are to be returned immediately + Regular attendance is required; technicians must arrive on time for scheduled jobs + Prepare testing reports using Field Data Collection (FDC) software; ability to write and retrieve emails using Microsoft Outlook + Must be willing to travel within the state of Georgia, if applicable + Complete daily time and labor reports in accordance with company policy + Turn in required paperwork daily + Regular attendance is required + Must be flexible to changing schedules and hours to support business needs; overnight and weekends schedules may be necessary to support business needs + Follow all company safety procedures and policies + Other duties may be assigned **Qualifications** + Roadway Testing Technician (RTT) certification + High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training, associate degree, or coursework in construction, engineering, geology, or a related field preferred. + 5+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or a related industry. + Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing preferred or ability to obtain within a specified time period. + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; ability to safely operate and maintain company vehicles. + Demonstrated commitment to safety with knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and company safety policies. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar industry tools. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, technical documents, construction specifications, and safety manuals to ensure compliance with project requirements. + Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot field issues and recommend solutions effectively. + Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in fieldwork, reporting, and inspections. + Attention to detail to ensure precise sample collection, testing procedures, and documentation accuracy. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and a strong work ethic. + Proven ability to mentor, coach, and train junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance team efficiency and performance. + Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. + Flexibility to work variable schedules, including early mornings, weekends, overtime, and overnight travel as required by project demands. **Who We Are** **UES is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is proud to recruit the most qualified candidates.
