Description • Exercise hands-on management of all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting functions of the organization to ensure credibility by providing timely and accurate financial statements and related analyses of financial trends • Report to President and to Board of Directors on the overall financial health of the organization; benchmark its performance against the budget; report on effectiveness of strategic priorities; provide additional reporting as needed to insure that the information presented is actionable • Prepare annual budget and present to Finance Committee and Board of Directors • Manage cash flow and projections and assist with budgets and forecasts to enable the company to achieve short- and long-term strategic financial objectives and make timely decisions • Oversee billing, accounts payable, payroll functions, and program funds • Maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure (1) compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting; (2) safeguarding of corporate assets; (3) coordination and supervision of staff and preparation of all necessary documents in conjunction with annual audit; (4) adherence to high ethical standards • Reconcile bank statements for multiple accounts and revenue streams • Reconcile various incompatible software platforms • Analyze and advise on Fixed Asset acquisitions • Manage funds received in the form of donations; record transactions in fundraising data base; insure donors receive acknowledgment in a timely manner • Send and receive foreign and domestic wire money transfers • Run Payroll, using third-party software, for full- and part-time hourly and salaried employees; reconcile reports to general ledger; monitor ACA reporting • Monitor spending on inventory, reconcile advances to partners for orders on future inventory purchases • Provide support to various departments related to POS software, usage, and functionality • Monitor and analyze budget to actual performance on a monthly basis; advise accordingly • Other duties as assigned or needed Education & Experience • BS/BA in Accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred but not mandatory • 5-7 years overall accounting experience with two years’ minimum supervisory experience • Excellent technical skills in accounting including experience with budgeting, cash flow projections, cost accounting, and payroll Skills and Abilities • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines • Strong overall computer skills with proficiency in Excel and Word • A general understanding of Point of Sale, General Ledger, and Donor Management software • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization • Strong analytical and decision making skills • Team player • Results-oriented, high level of personal integrity and dependability, and a strong sense of urgency Comfortable working with a faith-based donor base and constituency Requirements Budget Processes, Cash Flow Analysis, Compliance, Financial Reporting, Financial Statement, Microsoft Office Suites, Perform Ad Hoc Financial, Review, Microsoft Excel, General Ledger Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
