Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
This position is for a detail-oriented Controls Engineer with 2+ years of experience. In this role, you will need to program equipment from scratch using Allen-Bradley: CompactLogix-RSLogix 5000. You will be designing HMIs with FactoryTalk, creating user-friendly interfaces, and must have a strong background within AutoCAD with a willingness to learn AutoCAD Electrical. This role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously. The Controls Engineer must have strong communication skills and a positive attitude as you will be working collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
+ Program PLCs, HMIs, and Motion Control programs.
+ Provide technical support to the service department and customers in the field as needed.
+ Handle multiple projects concurrently.
+ Work closely with mechanical design and manufacturing teams to clarify or resolve problems and develop electrical designs.
+ May be required to travel for projects (10% max).
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years programming with Allen-Bradley.
+ Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
+ HMI design with FactoryTalk.
+ Proficiency in PLC programming, automation, commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of servos/VFDs and electrical engineering principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Engineering Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is a plus.
Work Environment
The company is based in Homer and manufactures semi-automatic and fully automatic vertical bagging systems as well as medical device heat sealing machines. Position will be about 40 hours depending on projects, with the possibility of working up to 45 hours a week.
Some travel may be required for different projects (10% max).
The work environment includes a recently renovated employee break room and monthly catered lunches.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $39.00/hr.
