Cook/Food Service Coordinator

Location : Haverhill, MA Pay Range : $20 per hour 20 hours per week The Cook/Food Service Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day Food Service Operation at the Haverhill Corps. This person must perform duties including but not limited to menu planning, cooking, cleaning and inventory control. QUALIFICATIONS + Must be ServSafe, Kitchen Manager certified + Must be CPR/First Aid certified + Must have allergen awareness certification + Supervisory skills preferred (to manage volunteers) + Must have excellent organization skills + Must understand FIFO inventory control + Must be able to lift an average of 50lbs + Must be able to treat all people of varying background with dignity and respect + Must be able to communicate effectively in English, bi-lingual preferred Work Experience: + Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen + Experience with creating menus and preparing meals for 100 -200 clients Duties & Responsibilites: + Prepare daily meals according to planned menus, with flexibility to creatively utilize food donations + Follow all ServSafe protocols regarding proper handling and storage of food and equipment. + Regularly clean all kitchen equipment, counters, floors, etc + Work and meet regularly with Corps Officer (s) to review personnel issues, menu plans, and supply and purchasing needs + Prepare, cook and serve meals on site to those in need, sometimes with the assistance of volunteers + Recruit, train, and supervise all volunteers related to the Soup Kitchen + Maintain inventory of food and supplies + Perform other duties within the scope of the position.
