Description We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and analyzing financial data to ensure accurate cost reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with various departments and contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations. Responsibilities: • Prepare, reconcile, and analyze job cost reports and gross margin reports to ensure financial accuracy. • Collaborate with project engineers to identify and address significant cost variances and related issues. • Develop and analyze deferred variances and overhead absorption schedules to support financial planning. • Reconcile unvouchered payables, accrued liabilities, and other financial accounts. • Monitor inventory practices to ensure accurate costing of inventories and cost of goods sold. • Maintain and update fixed asset and depreciation schedules. • Review labor reporting processes between time tracking software and internal systems for accuracy. • Assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation and support during audit procedures. • Perform specialized accounting projects and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned. • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance with financial regulations. If you are interested in this opportunity or other Direct Hire opportunities through Robert Half please call Carolyn Barnett at 513.810.3821 Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a related field. • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Epicor and Crystal Reports. • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and their application in financial processes. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Familiarity with accounts payable, auditing, and budget processes. • Experience with month-end close procedures and percentage-of-completion accounting. • Ability to monitor cash activity and reconcile financial accounts effectively. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
