Description
POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for the management of the Centers progressive student discipline, recognition andincentive programs for students. Analyzes Centers student discipline and incentive data and usesproper judgment and discretion to resolve student issues and problems effectively. Ensures strictconfidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISIONSupervises and manages the CSIO Department and staff.RESPONSIBILITIESo Follows all program integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation ofstudent data.o Oversees the Center behavior management system to ensure student compliance with Centerrules and regulations.o Interviews, recommends for hire, disciplines, recommends for termination and evaluates theperformance of the employees in the CSIO department.o Provides orientation to new students including explaining Center rules, regulations,incentive/disciplinary system and legal services available.o Provides in-service training to all staff on the Center behavior management system.o Ensures the Center's compliance with Job Corps Zero Tolerance policies.o Administers penalties for disciplinary infractions in accordance with PRH requirements,approved sanction guide and the Student Handbook.o Appoints and trains staff to serve on the Centers Fact Finding Boards.o Investigates student incidents involving student misconduct. Reports significant concerns tothe Executive Center Director.o Ensures sanctions are imposed in accordance with the PRH and Company policies.o Maintains a complete file of student disciplinary records and ensures student behavioralinfractions are appropriately entered into CIS in accordance with Company policies.o Analyzes and prepares data related to behavioral trends and prepares required reports asdirected.

Coordinates these activities with the Center Safety & Securitydepartment.o In cooperation with the Career Counseling Manager, ensures the effective administration ofthe Career Success Standards Rating system as directed by company guidelines.o Fills staff vacancies in a timely manner. Effectively motivates, empowers and requires staff toperform his/her job responsibilities. Employs sound time-management and delegation skills.Holds staff accountable for producing quality work, develops staff for career progression anddisciplines staff that fail to meet goals.o Motivates and manages staff to work effectively, creates a supportive work environment,recognizes staff accomplishments and proactively addresses staff performance concerns.o Develops Center-beneficial linkages within the community for education, employment, CareerTechnical Training and WBL. Promotes a positive image of the Center and Job Corps.o Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.o Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift andappropriate action and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy tostudent and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.o Provides quality programs and services for students and ensures that quality is maintained andstudent needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of programs and services.o Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner andcontributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Providesquality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.o Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluatesappropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensureprompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are in fact corrected.o Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision andservices are provided to students.o Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Managerto include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments andpositions.o Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors degree from an accreditedschool preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in Job Corps or related youth programrequired. Must possess a valid in-State Drivers License and meet Company insurabilityrequirements. DOL approval required.
