POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY The technologists are under the general supervision of the Director of Imaging Services and/or Imaging Supervisor, and the clinical direction of the Radiology Medical Director. The CT scan technologist will accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. The technologist will perform both CT and XRAY diagnostic procedures at a technical level as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: ï‚· Graduate of an accredited school of Radiological Technology ï‚· Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R) ï‚· Licensure by the State of Indiana ï‚· Maintain CPR certification ï‚· Maintains licenses/certification and required continuing education credits ï‚· One-year specialized training /experience preferred, in order to acquire a suitable knowledge of anatomy and physiology and in-depth knowledge of CT, and expertise in scanning procedures and technique ï‚· Must be a Registered CT Tech ARRT(CT) within one year of hire ï‚· As a condition of employment, the member is required to take and pass the Advanced Specialty Registry within the first year of employment. ï‚· Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with various levels of hospital personnel, including: medical staff, nursing personnel and other health team members, and occasionally representatives of outside agencies/companies. ï‚· Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for Neonates, Infants, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients/family served. ï‚· Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills and communication abilities necessary to interact with patient, physicians, and other hospital associates.
