Job Description
Join a leading global supplier that specializes in controls and simulation solutions for the marine, power, and space sectors, including naval communications and underwater acoustics. As part of the Marine division, you will support the Canadian government and international partners by securing military ship equipment against cybersecurity threats. This role involves modernizing ship systems with added software, increasing the need for enhanced cybersecurity measures.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and implement various cybersecurity and IT technologies as part of the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) solution.Collaborate with software teams, DevOps, and integration and test teams to enhance security throughout all phases of development.Identify, prioritize, and address security vulnerabilities within the product.Develop automation, scripts, and potentially write code to support cybersecurity efforts.Create requirements for other software to meet cybersecurity standards and needs.Deploy cybersecurity technologies to strengthen the solution’s overall security.Essential Skills10+ years of experience in cybersecurity within a software development environment.Secure software development practices, including OWASP Top Ten vulnerabilities, secure coding, penetration testing, and threat modeling.Proficiency in static and dynamic code analysis.System administration skills in both Linux and Windows environments.Must be eligible for NATO clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in automation and scripting using languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python.Knowledge of endpoint security technologies.Understanding of identity and access management and cryptography.Vulnerability management and software configuration management experience.Familiarity with virtualization, containerization, and virtual networking.Ability to assess and strategically modify architectural components for improved security.Strong communication skills to explain cybersecurity concepts and assist development teams.Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills based on quantitative and qualitative data.Cybersecurity certifications.Familiarity with Atlassian tools.Proficiency in French.Work Environment
This is a hybrid role requiring 3-4 days in the office, collaborating with a knowledgeable cybersecurity team of two engineers. The work involves long-term projects in the defense industry, offering stable work with the opportunity to work on major contracts from the start. This environment provides opportunities to develop skills and implement new technologies.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $85.00/hr.
