Data Coordinator - Worcester
The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a detailed, highly analytical candidate for a full-time Data Coordinator position in Worcester. This person will promote effective resource management and the providing of quality service by collecting, analyzing and presenting relevant data and through development of outcome measures. The Data Coordinator is an integral part of the Quality Assurance team, and will be a Tableau Explorer for Central Massachusetts (MA), preparing and analyzing data in order to provide statistical and analytical reports, guidance for Leadership, and to assist with or coordinate other related quality and risk management projects as directed. *Please note:* This is a full-time, 40-hour position. The schedule is 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The days off are Saturday and Sunday. *_Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_* *Data analysis and reporting:* * Oversee and support specific data-related activities, inclusive of reporting, review, auditing, and analysis, related to services and supports provided by the DMH Central Ma Area; * Gather, maintain, update, and analyze data, as needed, upon request, and as scheduled; * Reinforce and execute tools for monitoring and enhancing regulatory compliance and adherence in collaboration with Central Mass Area managers; * Advance regular and ad hoc reports to promote efficient, effective, data informed decision making and contract monitoring for Central MA DMH staff; * Develop mechanisms to enhance data integrity and support development of such as needed; * Participate in statewide Tableau collaboratives to maximize use of this tool, sharing best practices and promoting inter-Area collaboration on report development. *Customer and technical support provided:* * Quality assurance support for DMH and provider staff regarding databases and reporting systems for DMH operated or purchased services in Central Massachusetts; * Support of Central MA DMH by overseeing, and supporting auditing activities; * Technical expertise, and operational and technical assurance to DMH and provider staff; * Assist in the development of monitoring and systems to ensure regulatory privacy and security compliance within federal, state law and DMH regulations; *Administration:* * Promote compliance with specific Area or statewide procedures through the development and use of automated tools and reports; * Support and ensure regulatory compliance with privacy, information security, and designated record set requirements, by supporting various local databases in order to respond to record requests; * Assist staff relative to Internal Controls, Human Rights, Incident Review, Risk Management Oversight, HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements, Contract Monitoring and Management, Information security requirements, and Area procedures; * Oversee structure, organization and access to Area shared folders; * Participate in various statewide and Area wide internal and external task forces, committee and groups as appropriate. _*Required Qualifications:*_ * Knowledge of, and proficiency in analytics and data visualization software, including Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and/or related or similar software packages. * Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of data, to draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations. * Comprehension and proficiency of report and query writing and methodology. * Capacity to conduct in depth analysis of work processes and procedures, to assess effectiveness and efficiency and develop recommendations for improvement. * Commitment to supporting the delivery of person-centered, trauma-informed practices that are evidence-based and effective in promoting recovery. * Experience in or proficiency with database maintenance. * Propensity to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with diverse constituencies at all levels of the organization. * Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize multiple tasks. * Ability to travel within Massachusetts occasionally. * Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency is preferred. * Candidates must be able to read, write and otherwise communicate in English.
