This is a  great role positioned within the Invenco Cloud Services team. It requires a deep understanding of PostgreSQL and PL/SQL programming, along with experience in database design, development, and optimization. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust database solutions that support our applications and enhance our data management capabilities.

In this position you will responsible for :

\n\nDesigning, developing, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases and PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers.\nCollaborating with software developers to integrate database solutions with application code.\nOptimising queries and database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.\nImplementing data modelling techniques and design schemas that meet business requirements.\nApplying your expertise in data modelling, SQL/NoSQL databases, data structures, and ETL processes to improve database setups and operations.\nHandling large scale datasets, enhancing delivery and operational efficiency\nDatabase migrations and upgrades\nWrite and maintain technical documentation for database designs and processes.\nIndependently lead working sessions with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align database strategies with business objectives.\n

You will have at least 5 year’s experience  working in data engineering, an administrator or developer role. You’ll be able to handle fast paced work environments and adapt to changes in project scope and client requirements with a solution mindset. Resilience, collaboration and an ability to handle ambiguity will be important as our business continues to grow and innovate.

This position requires the following technical skills:

\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.\nProven experience as a Database Administrator, with extensive knowledge of database technologies including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and particularly AWS database services.\nStrong hands-on experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, and cloud database services.\nDeep understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and cost optimization strategies.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nExperience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. \nExperience in migrating data across the database/environments with zero downtime.\nFamiliarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.\nExperience with database design, development, and administration.\nKnowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies.\nHands on engineering of solutions and data pipelines utilizing CI/CD and automation.\nDesign and maintain testing processes and automation workflows for data feature changes, upgrades, and releases.\nBuild processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management. \nExperience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. \nOthers: Vagrant, GitHub, Docker, Terraform \nAbility to independently lead working sessions            \nExcellent communication skills both written and verbal \n\n
