Design Build Project Manager - Federal Buildings

We are looking for a highly motivated, client-focused Design-Build Project Manager You’ll have the chance to work on large capital projects across the US. These exciting and engaging large-scale building projects will utilize your Design-Build expertise to help ensure safe and efficient delivery. You’ll work with the best engineers, construction managers, and contractors in the business. You will also gain experience working closely with technical subject matter experts, project control specialists, and some of the best digital delivery professionals in the industry. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of a project: including but not limited to design development; procurement and management of consultants and contractors; overseeing construction, commissioning, and closeout; managing and tracking project budgets and schedules; and ensuring final acceptance and turnover of projects to clients. As Jacobs’ Design-Build Project Manager, you will generally oversee a General Contractor in the execution of projects for which Jacobs is the Designer of Record and holds the Prime Contract for Design and Construction. With the support of Field, Quality and Safety professionals, you will work closely with the General Contractor to ensure that our projects are delivered safely on time and in accordance with quality standards. Your involvement during pre-construction will utilize your diverse experience working with our design and cost estimating professionals, negotiating contracts, assessing/mitigating risks, and maintaining communications across multiple project stakeholders. During construction, your critical thinking will be applied to leverage the skills of our technical and construction specialists to resolve problems surfacing in the field. Your leadership during construction will include client relations, resourcing and team supervision, facilitating coordination meetings, managing change orders, presenting to clients, and driving the team’s actions toward minimizing risks and resolving construction issues. Additionally, as the Project Manager you will be responsible for internal progress reporting on issues related to Cost Projections, Schedule, Quality, Safety and Risk. Guiding the project team is what you do best. Serving as Jacobs’ primary Design-Build Project Management representative for our clients’ projects, your responsibilities cross all aspects of project execution and delivery. During construction, assume this role may require 75% of your time on site. #biaffederal #cj • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Construction Management. • Experience managing firm-fixed-price and/or design-build projects. • At least 10 years of management experience in construction and administration of large projects. • Knowledge of project planning, pre-construction, delivery methods, and building systems • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites up to 50%.
